2015 Seattle Seahawks Offseason Update

Fantasy Fuel: Under a new $87.6 million four-year contract, QB Russell Wilson is ready to return after recording the most regular season wins by a quarterback in his first three seasons (36), he hopes to make the playoffs and compete for his third Super Bowl in four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. Wilson's rushing production is likely to decrease from the 849 yards and 6 rushing TDs he had last season, but 500-600 yards should be attainable. Russell's passing production is where his fantasy value is lacking. He has never passed for 3,500 yards in a season. By obtaining TE Jimmy Graham through an offseason trade, the Seahawks and Wilson now have a true redzone threat and an optimal pass catcher. However, reports continue to infer that Graham will take up blocking to aid RB Marshawn Lynch. We don't see Graham posting 2013 numbers again (86-1,215-16) and he'll be lucky to reach his 2014 numbers (85-889-10). Lynch finished as the #3 fantasy RB with the most touchdowns in the league (outside of QBs). He has exceeded 1,200 rushing yards along with double digit rushing touchdowns all four full seasons with the Seahawks. Wilson's low passing yards may be due to his receiving corp consisting of Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, and Tyler Lockett. Baldwin barely finished in the top 50 for fantasy football wide receivers in 2014 and currently projects as the consensus #58 receiver for 2015. K Steven Hauschka should be a top kicker again this season and may be worth snagging in leagues with bonus points. Hauschka hasn't missed an extra point since 2012 and has only missed 1 field goal inside the 40 during the last three seasons.
