2015 Atlanta Falcons Offseason Update

Fantasy Fuel: With one of the worst defenses in the league (consensus rank #30) and exceptional receivers, the Falcons can post top fantasy numbers again this season. Due to the poor defense, Ryan ultimately threw 628 passing attempts last year, second most in the league. Ryan's go-to target has been 6'3" WR Julio Jones who, despite injuries, had 104 receptions for 1,593 yards and 6 touchdowns. Every season that Jones played 15 or more games, he has finished as a top 10 fantasy wide receiver. Lining up on the other side of the field is WR Roddy White. White played in 16 games for eight consecutive seasons with the Falcons until playing in 13 and 14 games the last two years. With 921 yards last season, he fell shy of his usual 1,150+ yard seasons. Although White will continue to be phased out in his age 33 season as Julio Jones takes over the predominant receiving role, there is still plenty of value with his current ADP as the 36th receiver off the board at 90 overall. As training camp continues this week, 2015 round 3 selection Tevin Coleman competes with 2014 round 4 selection Devonta Freeman for running back duties. The overwhelming belief from Falcons beat reporters is that Freeman has the "upper hand", however Coleman took first-team reps on Saturday. This running back battle could easily turn into a RBBC and result in poor fantasy production behind a weak offensive line.
