2015 New Orleans Saints Offseason Update

Fantasy Fuel: Once again the fantasy elite quarterback Drew Brees led the league in 2014 passing yards with 4,952 tying Ben Roethlisberger. Brees also led the NFL in completions (456) and attempts (659). With all that quarterback success, the New Orleans Saints finished the season 7-9. Much thanks to a porous defense. HC Sean Payton will look to right the ship, or he could be finding his way out of town. Enter 2015 game plan: A ball control run game with an upgraded D. Free agency moved 3x pro-bowl tight end Jimmy Graham to Seattle via a trade for Center Max Unger and a first round draft selection. Pass catching running back CJ Spiller was brought in from Buffalo to reassure a solid pass catching option out of the backfield. Former first round draft pick RB Mark Ingram finally showed his potential as a two-down pounder. Last season's first round selection for the Saints, WR Brandin Cooks, will lead this offense in targets and receptions if healthy. Offensive tackle Andrus Peat was drafted #13 overall and Linebacker Stephone Anthony was selected near the end of the first round at #31. A third season with DC Rob Ryan should revamp this defense back to their 2013 success. Alleged fantasy sleeper TE Josh Hill has been raved about this offseason to replace the production absence left behind by Graham - don't buy into it.
