2015 Minnesota Vikings Offseason Update

Fantasy Fuel: After a half way decent 7-9 season for the 2014 first round draft pick, QB Teddy Bridgewater, the Minnesota Vikings return with some new weapons in the offense. Most notably, is the return of RB Adrian Peterson. After missing most of last season, AP comes to the Vikings with fresh legs and in great shape. Reports about Peterson are phenomenal and the fantasy football consensus rankings have him as the #1 overall pick for this season. AP may not come close to his 2,097 rushing yards from 2012, but he sure hopes to prove that he can still do it in his age 30 season. If you were to combine the fantasy points scored by running backs Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata, who both started games after week 1 when Peterson was suspended, they totaled 215 points in standard scoring. Those 215 points puts the Vikings running back in the top 8. Impressive, to say the least. With the addition of WR Mike Wallace, who will be better utilized as a deep threat than he was in Miami, the Vikings could push past 350 offensive points this season. Mike Wallace and Charles Johnson are likely to put up WR2-3 numbers this season, so don't plan on either receiver to be your #1 option. TE Kyle Rudolph only played in 15 games over the last two seasons, but was a solid option in 2012 when he played the full season with 53-493-9. Rudolph's current average draft position is in round 14 of standard scoring 10-team leagues. That's worth a late round flier if you miss out on Gronk or Graham early on.
