2015 Washington Redskins Offseason Update

Fantasy Fuel: Head coach Jay Gruden has been more flippy floppy on QB Robert Griffin III than a fish pulled out of water. Last season, RG3 started seven games (played in 9 games), followed by Kirk Cousin who started in five games (played in 6 games), and Colt McCoy who started in four games (played in 5 games). RG3 finished last season outside the top 32 QBs and was over 300 fantasy points behind #1 fantasy QB Andrew Luck. ESPN Insider's annual edition of the "NFL QB Tier Rankings" anonymously polls NFL coaches, general managers, and personnel directors. One offensive coach said, "He is done. The reason why is, the injury slowed his legs, and his ego will not allow him to hit rock bottom and actually grind his way back up the right way." Griffin was ranked #28 overall in the poll. With all that said, 2015 looks like a make or break season for the once highly esteemed NFL prospect. RB Alfred Morris finished as the #13 fantasy running back last year with 265 carries for 1,074 yards and 8 rushing touchdowns. He added another 155 receiving yards from 17 receptions. That was his third consecutive season with more than 1,000 rushing yards. Expect to see another 1,000 yard season because it's not looking up for the Redskins' quarterback. WR DeSean Jackson completed the year with 1,169 yards. WR Pierre Garcon finished with 752 yards. Both receivers should be in the wide receiver 2-3 range.  Tight end Jordan Reed has only played in 20 of the possible 36 games in his first two NFL seasons. He had 50+ yards or a touchdown in 10 of those games. Reed is a nice plug and play if he's on the field, but be wary of drafting him early. TE Niles Paul filled in to provide fantasy value during the first four weeks last season, but was nearly unheard of after that. Don't expect much from Paul unless Reed finds his way to the medic once again.
