2015 Dallas Cowboys Offseason Update

Fantasy Fuel: Can Jerry do it? That's half the question for the Dallas Cowboys this season. The remaining half is still a question mark in the Dallas backfield. With the true fantasy bell cow RB DeMarco Murray no longer on the team, the Cowboys have struggled to find a suitable replacement for his 393 rushing attempts last year. Only one running back was within 100 rushing attempts of Murray last season (LeSean McCoy). Rumor has it that the Cowboys have the best offensive line in the league and any running back will have success behind the line. Well, everyone in Jerry World seems to be going with this philosophy, at least for now. Running backs Darren McFadden, Joseph Randle, and Ryan Williams are currently on the roster to replace Murray's rushing attempts. McFadden played 16 games in Oakland for 155-534-2, while Randle completed a 6.7 yard per attempt for 343 yards. Thankfully, WR Dez Bryant signed his contract extension hours before the deadline. Bryant posted the most receiving touchdowns in the league as the #3 fantasy football wide receiver. With potential for a struggle at running back, TE Jason Witten should see a nice uptick in fantasy production. He finished as the #10 fantasy tight end in 2014 and should continue as a top 10 TE if Dallas can't get the running game moving. With QB Tony Romo experiencing a slight decline in his fantasy points the last few years, we estimate another top 10 season for the 35 year old quarterback. The Cowboys added DE Greg Hardy, OLB Randy Gregory, and undrafted first-round prospect OT La'el Collins for superior talent that should make an impact next season.
