2015 Kansas City Chiefs Offseason Update

Fantasy Fuel: The Chiefs defense finished atop the fantasy football mountain in the 2013 season, but dropped halfway down into the pack of other NFL defenses last year. Although the defense was ranked 2nd in defensive passing yards allowed per game, the Chiefs were ranked 28th in defensive rushing yards per game. Accordingly, they addressed many defensive needs in the draft. RB Jamaal Charles will continue to plow through the line of scrimmage and put up another 1,000 yard rushing season. He has accomplished this feat every season except his rookie year and in 2011 when he tore his ACL. Keep an eye on wide receiver Jeremy Maclin as he takes the Kansas City Chiefs' wide receiver corp for a whirl wind. After the Chiefs completed the season with no wide receiver touchdown receptions, WR Maclin comes in from Philly to change up the offense. Maclin finished his fifth season on the Eagles 86-1,329-10 and hopes to repeat similar numbers in Kansas City. We don't see a repeat of double digit touchdowns, but there aren't many other options for QB Alex Smith to throw to other than TE Travis Kelce who broke out in his first season.
