2015 Cleveland Browns Offseason Update

Fantasy Fuel: Over the past 25 years, the Cleveland Browns finished the NFL season with double digit wins during the 1994 and 2007 seasons. The 2014 Browns seemed to get back on track with a mid season record of 7-4, but the Browns failed to come through again by losing the last five games of the season. A cold winter in January came with the resignation of defensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and several other coaching replacements. The Browns HC Mike Pettine continues on a long track record of losing head coaches dating back to Marty Schottenheimer in the 1980's. General manager Ray Farmer provided first round draft busts in CB Justin Gilbert and QB Johnny Manziel, while also getting suspended himself for sending text messages to the sideline during 2014 regular-season games. Farmer was fined $250,000 and banned the first 4 games of 2015 without pay. With the 22nd overall pick in the NFL draft, the Cleveland Browns have selected QB Brady Quinn (2007), QB Brandon Weeden (2012), and QB Johnny Manziel (2014). Unable to find a QB to helm the Dawg Pound, the Browns reached out to veteran QB Josh McCown, brother of the Cleveland Brown's 4th round draft selection from 2004. McCown will try throwing the ball to WRs Dwayne Bowe, Brian Hartline, Andrew Hawkins, and TE Rob Housler. With the league's lowest number of passing targets to running backs, the Browns added 3rd rounder RB Duke Johnson who is already climbing the depth chart and could take over the Brown's backfield in the near future.
