2015 Pittsburgh Steelers Offseason Update

Fantasy Fuel: The Steelers made it to the Wildcard playoff game last season, but lost to the Ravens in a 30-17 matchup. Going into next season the Steelers may have the most explosive offense in the NFL. RB Le'Veon Bell returns as a top fantasy prospect; even with a three game ban that stemmed from an August 2014 DUI and marijuana charge during a night out with LeGarrette Blount. Bell's suspension has been appealed, but the appeal seems low on the NFL's priority list. Bell finished 2014 with the second most yards after catch and receiving yards from a RB, behind none other than RB Matt Forte. RB DeAngelo Williams should find solid work during the first three games of the season if Bell's suspension is not reduced. WR Antonio Brown is also projected as a top fantasy football wide receiver for 2015. With a 129-1,698-13 receiving stat line, Brown should continue to perform as the WR1 in Big Ben's offense. One bit of caution regarding Brown is that he averaged 3.75 touchdowns per season before exploding on the scene with 13 touchdowns in 2014. Behind Brown is 23 year old WR Martavis Bryant who scored 8 touchdowns while only playing in 10 games last season. That level of touchdown production is unsustainable, but watch for Bryant's snap count to increase along with his fantasy value in 2015. Three time Pro Bowler QB Ben Roethlisberger finished last season with 309.5 passing yards per game and took only 33 sacks. Big Ben plans on achieving 30+ points per game this year, a feat only achieved by Green Bay and Denver last year. With the Steelers finishing 2014 with the second most offensive yards per game (411.1 yards) and the addition of OLB Bud Dupree and CB Senquez Golson from the NFL Draft, look for the Pittsburgh Steelers to provide tier 1 fantasy production in 2015.

Update 07/28/15: RB Le'Veon Bell's suspension has been reduced to two games instead of three games.
