Trading Post - Week 10

Team A:
Traded away TE Julius Thomas (#38)
Traded away WR Steve Johnson (#47)

Team B:
Traded away RB TJ Yeldon (#27)

Braxton's Take:
There have been so many injuries over the past few weeks. There is a lot involved in this trade and I seem to like it quite a bit. The trade seems fairly even at first glance, so it depends on each teams needs. If one (or more) of your running backs have fallen to IR over the last few weeks, picking up an RB like TY Yeldon may be just what your team needs. The problem with getting Yeldon is that he plays at Baltimore this week and home against Tennessee next week - followed up by Tennessee again in week 13. All three games are tough match ups against the run, but Yeldon should get around 15 carries in each game. If you're on this end of the trade, hopefully you have nearly locked up a playoff spot. Yeldon's match ups during the fantasy playoffs are much better.

If that isn't your situation, you may have come up on a running back like Charcandrick West or James Starks and don't need TY Yeldon sitting on your bench. This is the time to trade away Yeldon and come up on players for other positions. TE Julius Thomas missed the first four games due to injury, but has played the most recent four game despite playing with lingering injuries. With 13, 5, and 8 targets over the last few games, Orange Julius is bound to get targeted heavily as his health improves. Thomas finished as the #2 tight end for the Broncos (measured by points per game) last year. Even though Julius Thomas is no longer in Denver's offense, Blake Bortles is on fire -putting up double digit fantasy points in every game this year- and ranks in the top 10 among quarterbacks through week nine. WR Steve Johnson hasn't made much noise since his back to back TD games in weeks one and two, but WR Keenan Allen has gone to IR and Malcom Floyd will attempt to play through a torn labrum. This leaves Steve Johnson as the only reliable target for Philip Rivers who has the most passing yards in the league this year. Steve Johnson's schedule is very favorable after the week 10 bye. Julius Thomas also has one of the best TE schedules during the fantasy playoffs. This trade could be a win for either team depending on each situation.
